Racism In The School System
Changes must be made to make a better learning environment for people of color.

Punishments

Black students are three times more likely to get suspended for the same violations as their white counterparts this could be due to a study that shows black boys as young as even ten are seen as older or less innocent then their peers.

The School TO Prison Pipeline

The school to prison pipeline is a way to get children from disadvantaged backgrounds incarcerated due to strict school policies. Simple altercations for black students can lead to an arrest putting them in the criminal system before they even finish secondary school.

About

Hello! I am Israa Mohamed. The reason I chose to create this website was because I realized how bad the school system treats people of color especially black students. I have witnessed this up front while attending my predominately white school that punishes the black students much harshly than the white students and also does not take racism and islamaphobia seriously. I want people to know the racism students of color face everyday in facilities and environments we deem as safe spaces. Racism doesn't have to be always overt it can be institutionalized and I want others to be conscious of that.
